We talked to PrettyLitter subscriber Kelly M. about warrior cat Kittles and here’s what Kelly had to say:

Kittles is my first pet. I got him when he was 6 months old in August of 2016. I knew he was born in February, but didn't know what day so I decided February 5th would be his birthday because that was the same month and day I got my heart transplant in 2013.

One Interesting Fact About Us

We both survived death. I am a survivor of two heart transplants and Kittles survived a deadly UTI when he was only 1 year and 9 months old. I had no idea he was suffering so by the time I took him to the hospital I was told he might not make it through surgery and that it might be best to put him down. I was devastated at the fact that they didn’t want to do anything more to help him other than diagnose him. But a miracle happened. As soon as I was ready to pay to put him down, my Uber Driver who dropped us off came right back and told me that God does hear our prayers, which I found shocking because I didn't tell this man about what was going on with Kittles other than we needed to go to the veterinarian. He told me he called another hospital called Chickasaw Trail Animal Hospital who said not to put him down because they believed they could help him. So we left for that clinic right away and they immediately took him in. Kittles went through an intense and body-altering surgery and after two days of recovering at the clinic, he was finally able to come home. His doctor said that he is truly a fighter, which made me cry because my doctor said the same thing to my father when I almost died of dilated cardiomyopathy, which makes the heart pretty much the size of a human head. Kittles and I are known to my friends and family as warriors.

Kittles’ Favorite Pastime

Spending time with my sister’s German Shepard.

Kittles’ Most Mischievous Behavior

Running real fast every time I come home. His eyes are dilated and he makes these really funny sounds while running.

If your cat could have one thing unlimited for the rest of time, what would it be?
